The easiest way to learn about galvanizing is through an in-person galvanizing seminar. The general in-person seminar (Galvanize it) is presented by Metalplate personnel that are AGA (American Galvanizers Association) certified. The seminar can be presented at your office or at a Metalplate Plant (if presented at a Metalplate facility, a tour will be given once the seminar has concluded). Since you have a qualified representative delivering the seminar, any questions concerning galvanizing that may arise, can be answered immediately. The general in-person seminar is offered in a 1-, 2-, or 4-hour format and is registered for health, safety, and welfare (HSW) continuing education credits with both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). Certificates will be issued upon completion of the course. This seminar can be conducted during lunch, which provides an excellent opportunity for a relaxed learning experience, what we like to call “lunch and learn”! This seminar is an excellent learning experience for Architects, Engineers, Inspectors and Coating Professionals.
The general seminar material includes corrosion theory, design of galvanized steel products for quality galvanizing, discussion and video footage of the actual galvanizing process, pertinent ASTM specifications, inspection, painting over the galvanized coating, cathodic protection, electrochemical and galvanic corrosion, and much more.
